Human Copy Machines
- Human Copy Machines were the Scribes. Their profession was to be dedicated in their LIFE WORK to the accurate recording of Scripture. They had editors in place to be certain no more than 3 errors occurred in the entire document. There process was…….
- To have scribes who were dedicated to the profession of accurate recording of the scripture.
- They approached their work with serious dedication so as not to defile the scripture or take God’s name in vain for fear of retribution or judgment by God Himself!
- Preparation of the Parchment sheet.
- Preparation of the writing utensil and ink
- Intricate process of prayer, writing and saying out loud each letter and word. They could not copy from memory but had to use an authenticated copy. They could make no mistakes without correction. There was a prescribed amount of columns per page, particular spacing of letters required, no letter could touch each other, among other details for accuracy.
- There was a strict edit and authentication process in place to verify accuracy. Within 30 days an editor would review the document. They would count each letter and word to match the copy they copied from. They would compare the middle words on each page to the authenticated copy they used to copy from. (STONE PG 21)
- They were human copy machines.

- Dead Sea Scrolls are an example of how accurate scribes were in recording scripture. The Dead Sea Scrolls were found between 1946-1956 ad. and confirmed to be written as early as 200 bc ? These scrolls have been compared to the established Masoretic or common Hebrew text of the Old Testament. It can also be compared to the Greek translation of the Old Testament Hebrew scriptures called the Septuagint written between 300-200 BC and this has also confirmed the accuracy of the recording method used by the scribes for hundreds of years. They were in virtual human copy machines. Not hard to see why. The oral tradition was entrenched in their culture and their life work was dedicated to accuracy. Judges do not like their rulings overturned by appeals. If you were a scribe you would not want to be the guy that could not do his job correctly. After all it was one of the most important jobs in the nation! It was for God and heritage and any Hebrew that would take this job lightly would be considered disrespectful to God. Not looked upon by the Hebrews as a good thing! Remember, they would stone, adulterers, disrespectful kids, etc.
Fulfilled Bible Prophecy
The Bible tests for truth and a true prophet
- Does it happen exactly as stated
- Point people to serve God only
Prophets must be 100% accurate or they are FALSE PROPHETS and were to be put to death!
But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
If the prophet tells people to follow other Gods even if their prophecy is true are considered a FALSE PROPHET.
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the Lord thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
Prophecy against EDOM
‘Thus says the Lord God: “Because of what Edom did against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended by avenging itself on them,” that they may do in Edom according to My anger and according to My fury; and they shall know My vengeance,” says the Lord God therefore thus says the Lord God: “I will also stretch out My hand against Edom, cut off man and beast from it, and make it desolate from Teman; Dedan shall fall by the sword. I will lay My vengeance on Edom by the hand of My people Israel, that they may do in Edom according to My anger and according to My fury; and they shall know My vengeance,” says the Lord God.

Edom (ē´dŏm), Idumaea, or Idumea (both: īdyōōmē´ə), mountainous country, called also Mt. Seir. According to the Book of Genesis, it was given to Esau, also called Edom, and his descendants. It extended along the eastern border of the Arabah valley, from the Dead Sea to Elat. Edomite history was marked by continuous hostility and warfare with Jews, Assyrians, and Syrians. At the end of the 2d cent. BC, they were subdued by Hasmonaean priest-king John Hyrcanus I, forcibly circumcised, and merged with the Jews. Herod the Great was Idumaean. The Romans grouped Idumaea with Judaea and Samaria in one procuratorship. After the destruction of Jerusalem, Idumaea was included in Arabia Petraea.

Prophecy of EGYPT
I will bring back the captives of Egypt and cause them to return to the land of Pathros, to the land of their origin, and there they shall be a lowly kingdom. It shall be the lowliest of kingdoms; it shall never again exalt itself above the nations, for I will diminish them so that they will not rule over the nations anymore.
Up until the time of Ezekiel, Egypt had been a world power for centuries, dominating many nations, including Israel. But for most of the past 2500 years, Egypt has been controlled by foreign powers, including the Romans, Ottomans and Europeans. It is not become a world power ever since.

Prophecy about King Cyrus & Babylon
"Thus says the Lord to His anointed,
To Cyrus, whose right hand I have held —
To subdue nations before him And loose the armor of kings, To open before him the double doors, So that the gates will not be shut:
In Isaiah 45:1, the prophet said God would open the gates of Babylon for Cyrus and his attacking army. Despite Babylon's remarkable defenses, which included moats, and walls that were more than 70-feet thick and 300-feet high, and 250 watchtowers. Cyrus was able to march his army across the riverbed and into the city. Cyrus was able to enter the city and conquer it.
Prophecy of Nineveh
Nahum 3:15, 19
There the fire will devour you, The sword will cut you off; …our injury has no healing, In Nahum 3:15, the prophet said that Nineveh would be damaged by fire.
Archaeologists unearthed the site during the 1800s and found a layer of ash covering the ruins.
"Set out your case for your gods," says God. "Bring your evidence," says the King of Jacob.
"Take the stand on behalf of your idols, offer arguments, assemble reasons. Spread out the facts before us so that we can assess them ourselves. Ask them, 'If you are gods, explain what the past means — or, failing that, tell us what will happen in the future. Can't do that? How about doing something — anything! Good or bad — whatever. Can you hurt us or help us? Do we need to be afraid?' They say nothing, because they are nothing — sham gods, no-gods, fool-making gods.

21 Produce your cause, saith the Lord; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob. 22 Let them bring them forth, and show us what shall happen: let them show the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come. 23 Show the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together. 24 Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you. 25 I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon mortar, and as the potter treadeth clay. 26 Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that showeth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words. 27 The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings. 28 For I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word. 29 Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion.

There are at least 48 messianic prophecies that Christ fulfilled. They contain elaborate details about His birth, life and death. They spanned thousands of years and were authored by many different authors most of whom never knew each other personally.
We provide a list at the end of all 48 Scripture references. Here are some samples.
Prophesy of the Lineage of David
2 Samuel 7:16-17
And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established forever. According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
Prophesy of the Virgin Birth
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Prophesy of the city of Bethlehem for the birth of Christ
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
Prophesy of the Slaughter of Children
Thus saith the Lord; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.
Prophesy of the Christ being called out of Egypt
When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
Prophesy of the Nazarene or Hebrew word Nezer
Isaiah 11:1 an indication that the Messiah would be from Nazarene from the original
Prophesy of the statement Jesus said on the cross
My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
Prophesy of the Crucifixion foretold
My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent. But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head saying, He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him. But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts. I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly. Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help. Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round. They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion. I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
The Prophesy of His Purpose and suffering
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

There has always been a fascination by people regarding the future. This is why end time Bible prophecy has always been interesting. There are some differences between our studies on “Fulfilled Bible prophecies,” and “Messianic prophecies” and this study on “End time Bible Prophecies.” We can verify through history the fulfilled and Messianic prophecies. Some of the end time prophecies are fulfilled and history confirms this but some are not fulfilled.
One example of fulfilled end time prophecy is that the nation of Israel has become a sovereign nation. This was declared over 2,000 years ago! Yet, there are other end time prophecies that are still to be fulfilled; like Jesus Christ coming again and the world ending as we know it. It is fair to say that we have no absolute proof for unfulfilled end time prophecy. On the other hand, there are some concrete facts that can be seen in certain end time prophecy. These concrete facts will lend significant plausibility to certain unfulfilled prophecy. These are the types of prophecy that we will examine.
Throughout history there have been people who claimed to have a gift to predict future events. For example, Nostradamus and Jeanne Dixon would predict events. However, they were often wrong and have vague details in their predictions. These predictions were kind of like the horoscope predictions in a newspaper; they are vague and can apply to all kinds of things.
Bible prophecies are not like these. Furthermore, the Bible is clear that a true prophet must be accurate 100% of the time and point people to the God of the Bible.
Deuteronomy 18:20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
In our other lessons we have demonstrated the perfect accuracy of Bible prophets and their prophecies. Now let’s look at some unfulfilled end time prophecy and consider any hints that may indicate that they are going to be fulfilled. As we look at the following prophecies we must remember that the ancient prophets would do their best to communicate what God showed them in a vision. However, we know that these prophecies were foretold around 2,000 years ago. Since those days there have been thousands of advances in technology. These prophets had no understanding of modern technology. For example, transportation was by foot, animal or a chariot with animals. Common weapons were the bow and arrow, spear, shield, and sword. The prophets of old had no comprehension of automobiles, stealth jets, computer guided missiles, and they probably did not know about indoor plumbing. The Bible prophets could not say, “God showed me a really cool Corvette,” in a vision. The prophet did not know what a Corvette was!
So the prophets would try to explain what they seen with language they understood in there times. Perhaps they would describe a Corvette by saying, In a vision, “I saw something with the face of a man that was faster than many horses and its sound was like growling bears and it had an iron breastplate. In modern times we know that a Corvette has a driver and you can see a person through the windshield and it goes very fast and has a loud engine and is made of metal and plastic. But the prophet of old did not have this information. So they would do their best to describe what they saw. While this creates some tension for us to know for certain what these prophets were seeing. Still, there are hints and certain facts that can assist us to understand some of the things the prophets saw. We need to keep in mind that these prophets never heard of a computer, cloning, robots or artificial intelligence. So we must try to grasp from their explanation of what they saw and compare it to anything that may resemble what they saw in our modern world.
As we examine some prophecies I believe you will find our conclusions to be obvious and plausible. Our reference page provides a number of scripture references that we encourage you to investigate, also.
Let’s look at our first example about the anti-Christ. Many people have heard of the Bible’s anti-Christ. He is a depicted as a powerful political leader filled with the devil. The anti-Christ and his administration will try to force people to make a decision to receive what is called the mark of the beast which is the number 666. Only those who have the mark are able to buy and sell. This prophecy requires a society that does not use cash but some type of electronic transactions only. Our reference page shows that this kind of technology is available now! Once modern society makes all financial transactions by computer and/or electronic transactions then a leader could control buying and selling by individuals. Think about how we are heading in this direction. Currently, we make purchases with credit cards by phone, by computer, at gas stations and it is not always required to have confirmation of identity. It is not hard to imagine a computer chip or an electronic mark of some sort that would be required to make any financial transactions. This technology basically exists today.
Today many companies pay their employees by direct deposit. Banks and creditors encourage us to pay our bills through electronic-bill pay. We are encouraged to use credit or debit cards to purchase items online. We can see that the financial industry is foreseeing electronic transactions as the way of our future. Although we cannot confirm who the anti-Christ is yet it becomes obvious that a cashless society is required and our modern society is heading toward this now! It is obvious that any political group who could control individuals from buying and selling would have a great ability to control a mass amount of people. A cashless society requires some sort of computer based technology at the minimum. So now we can see that a 2,000 year old Bible prophecy foretold the type of technology needed for the anti-Christ to have power and it exists today.
Several end-time Bible prophecies indicate some type of weapon of mass destruction.
Revelation 9:5-10 And orders were given them not to put them to death, but to give them great pain for five months: and their pain was as the pain from the wound of a scorpion. And in those days men will be hoping for death, and it will not come to them; and they will have a great desire for death, and death will go in flight from them. And the forms of the locusts were like horses made ready for war; and on their heads they had crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates like iron, and the sound of their wings was as the sound of carriages, like an army of horses rushing to the fight. And they have pointed tails like scorpions; and in their tails is their power to give men wounds for five months.
This prophecy describes a weapon that incapacitates people for five months but it does not kill them. It is not hard to think that some kind of chemical or biological weapons could be used to incapacitate without death. Some prophecies explain what could be certain implements of modern warfare. Remember, Revelation 9 told us the prophet saw said something like vicious locusts that made lots of noise like wings and had metal breastplates and they had power from their tails that hurt men for five months. Is there anything in our modern day warfare that could resemble this description? Yes! What about a helicopter?
Certain helicopters can have an appearance like a locust or flying insect. They are clad in a metal alloy frame, a man’s face can be seen through its front windshield, they make a loud sound like many wings and missiles come from underneath and to the rear of the helicopter.
Jets or drones may be another option of what may be depicted here. There are micro-drones that can resemble an insect and we have information on all of this on our reference page. These micro drones could be used beyond surveillance purposes and could be used for destructive purposes. Regardless, we can acknowledge that the prophet was looking at some kind of warfare that requires the modern day technology we have or that will be developed shortly.
Another example of Bible prophecy indicating a weapon of mass destruction is seen in the figurative city called Babylon that was struck with some sort of weapon of mass destruction. It is destroyed in one hour! You can’t do that with a bow and arrow or a machine gun. The prophecy says no one will want the goods it has nor will anyone live there ever again! This is because the destruction was significant. Whether this is a nuclear attack that leaves fallout and ruins everything in the city or perhaps it is chemical or biological warfare that contaminates everything or some new weapon yet to be developed. In any case, it is describing modern day warfare.
Certain end time Bible prophecies tell us what people groups or nations will be involved in the battle of Armageddon. These nations are on the scene now! These nations will attempt to commit war against Israel. You know, the nation of Israel is a small speck of land compared to the entire Middle East. Isn’t it strange that such a small insignificant piece of land is so vehemently hated? Why? It doesn’t make sense to attack little Israel! This takes place because the Bible foretells the spiritual reality behind this conflict against Israel. Some of the nation’s spoken of in the Bible are parts of the former Soviet Union, and they get into an alliance of Arab nations. Then there is a large Asian army. All of these come against little ole Israel!
Today we can see that the United Nations, Russia, the Arabs, and the Chinese are not friends to Israel. Isn’t it amazing that thousands of years ago Bible prophecies told us that these modern nations would be against Israel? We do not know every detail for end time Bible prophecy because it has not all happened yet. Yet, the stage is set to fulfill these prophecies to any open minded person. It is obvious that these prophecies are real and plausible because the Bible is reliable.
When I was young seeking spiritual truth I participated in a number of world religions. Then I began to examine end time Bible prophecies. I was fascinated by how accurate the Bible prophecies appeared to be. It prompted me to learn about the Bible’s reliability with an open mind. This search eventually led me into a relationship with God. That was the last piece of the puzzle for me to believe in God and the Bible. Please, continue to complete our series on “Is the Bible Reliable” perhaps it will help you to place all the pieces to the puzzle together for to believe.
THE PROPHECY OF THE ANTI-CHRIST
Revelation 13:13-18 And he does great signs, even making fire come down from heaven on the earth before the eyes of men. And those who are on the earth are turned from the true way by him through the signs which he was given power to do before the beast; giving orders to those who are on the earth to make an image to the beast, who was wounded by the sword, and came to life. And he had power to give breath to the image of the beast, so that words might come from the image of the beast, and that he might have all those who did not give worship to the image of the beast put to death. And he gives to all, small and great, the poor and those who have wealth, the free and those who are not free, a mark on their right hand or on their brows; So that no man might be able to do trade but he who has the mark, even the name of the beast or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. He who has knowledge let him get the number of the beast; because it is the number of a man: and his number is Six hundred and sixty-six. (666)
Prophecies not fulfilled but peer into modern technology
And orders were given them not to put them to death, but to give them great pain for five months: and their pain was as the pain from the wound of a scorpion.
Modern warfare. Prophet explained the best he could about what he saw based upon his knowledge. Tanks, Jets, Helicopter, drones, flying bugs, chemical or biological warfare, etc.
Popular Science did an article on insect drones
Global Research provide research on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Drones & Micro drones)
The New York Times reported on future of drones.
They claimed that a drone made to mimic a hawk could be used for surveillance or to kill! It is not hard to imagine that an insect drone could have small knives or drill bit or a hypodermic needle to kill a human being.

Revelation 18:8-10, 18:10-24
Watching from far away, for fear of her punishment, saying, Sorrow, sorrow for Babylon, the great town, the strong town! for in one hour you have been judged.
And the traders of the earth are weeping and crying over her, because no man has any more desire for their goods, Gold, and silver, and stones of great price, and jewels, and delicate linen, and robes of purple and silk and red; and perfumed wood, and every vessel of ivory, and every vessel made of fair wood, and of brass, and iron, and stone; And sweet-smelling plants, and perfumes, and wine, and oil, and well crushed grain, and cattle and sheep; and horses and carriages and servants; and souls of men. And the fruit of your soul's desire has gone from you, and all things delicate and shining have come to an end and will never again be seen. The traders in these things, by which their wealth was increased, will be watching far off for fear of her punishment, weeping and crying;
Saying, Sorrow, sorrow for the great town, she who was clothed in delicate linen, and purple, and red; with ornaments of gold and stones of great price and jewels!
For in one hour such great wealth has come to nothing. And every shipmaster, and all who are sailing on the sea, and sailors and all who get their living by the sea, were watching from far away, And crying out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What town is like the great town? And they put dust on their heads, and were sad, weeping and crying, and saying, Sorrow, sorrow for the great town, in which was increased the wealth of all who had their ships on the sea because of her great stores! for in one hour she is made waste. Be glad over her, heaven, and you saints, and Apostles, and prophets; because she has been judged by God on your account. And a strong angel took up a stone like the great stone with which grain is crushed, and sent it into the sea, saying, So, with a great fall, will Babylon, the great town, come to destruction, and will not be seen any more at all. And the voice of players and makers of music will never again be sounding in you: and no worker, expert in art, will ever again be living in you; and there will be no sound of the crushing of grain any more at all in you; And never again will the shining of lights be seen in you; and the voice of the newly-married man and the bride will never again be sounding in you: for your traders were the lords of the earth, and by your evil powers were all the nations turned out of the right way.
In one hour this massive destruction took place by the sea where great merchandising and gaining of great wealth occurs. This is possibly a Nuclear event or another weapon of mass destruction.
Blood to the horses bridle
And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
Blood that is this deep requires some form of mass destructive weaponry.
The Bible describes the following nations that will gather to ARMAGEDDON
Gog, Magog, Meschech, Tubal, Persha, Ethiopia, Libya, Gomer, Togarmah, Sheba, Dedan, Tarshish & Kings of the east, etc. AGAINST ISREAL! All the players are here are evident in our modern times. We can see that they are enemies of Israel or at least not favorable to them. We can see the modern countries that these Bible countries represent. Many of these nations have alliances with each other or have some positive connection. The following nations make up an alliance of modern Arab nations and parts of the former Soviet Union. Nations like Russia, Iran, Turkey, Libya, and Ethiopia.
Table of nations map
Of course, in the centuries after Genesis 10 these people groups expanded from their Genesis 10 reported areas they inhabited.
Who are these people or nations now.
And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
"Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops — many people are with you. "Prepare yourself and be ready, you and all your companies that are gathered about you; and be a guard for them. After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely. You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you." 'Thus says the Lord God: "On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan: You will say, 'I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates' — to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land. Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, 'Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?'"' "Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, 'Thus says the Lord God: "On that day when My people Israel dwell safely, will you not know it? Then you will come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army. You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes."
KINGS OF THE EAST
And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
Then the four angels who had been prepared for this hour and day and month and year were turned loose to kill one-third of all the people on earth. 16 I heard the size of their army, which was 200 million mounted troops.
New Living Translation
And the four angels who had been kept in readiness for that hour, day, month, and year, were set at liberty, so that they might kill a third part of mankind. The number of the cavalry was two hundred millions; I heard their number.
Who are the Kings of the east? First they were located east of Israel. Second they travel down the river Euphrates. It is either an alliance of Asian armies or China. China boosts of almost 1.4 Billon people. It is easy to see that they could assemble a 200,000 million person army and still have 1.2 billion people left! This could only take place in our modern world.
How Accurate is the Bible Text?
Matt Slick provides sources that show well over 20,000 ancient copies for comparision.
Dr. Daniel Wallace claims 400,000 variants rather than the 200,000 that Geisler claims. Regardless in both cases VARIANTS are not mistakes or errors but slight variations.
Stone cites, ( page 66 ) John 9:20 as an example. This is the story where Jesus gave sight to a blind man, Stone notes some of the variations as follows:
Variant 1 “His parents answered them and said.”
Variant 2 “But his parents answered them and said.”
Variant 3 “His parents therefore answered and said.”
Variant 4 “His parents answered and said.”
These are variations but have no change to the meaning to the text. This is an example or variations but not errors in the text.
If there were 1,000 manuscripts and they contained any one of these four variations then the variants would be calculated at 1,000 X 4 text variants = 4,000 total variants
We look forward to increases in technology; archaeological discoveries and understanding that will clarify further these minor variations that do not affect the textual meaning.

There is a process of authentication of ancient documents.
Imagine an archaeologist who discovers an ancient copy of a document. Perhaps they think it might be a copy of the works of Plato, Socrates, etc., they would compare this document to other authenticated copies to try to authenticate it as a genuine, authentic copy of the author’s work.
If the new found copy was a “match” to the other authenticated copies then they would consider the document to be genuine and accurate.
In fact, if experts had just 12 copies that matched authenticated copies the EXPERTS would call it a discovery of a LIFETIME!
The majority of authenticated copies of documents in all antiquity total to less than 100 each!
Here is some proof of the amazing Bible and it authenticity
We have upwards of 3,000 to 5,500 ancient authenticated copies in the original Greek language to compare to each other for accuracy and authenticity depending upon how you see each document!
No other document in antiquity can claim even one thousand copies to compare for authentication.
The Bible contains near one million words and five million letters!
Those authenticated copies contain multi-millions or billions of words and letters! Yet, there are only around 200,000-400,000 variations!
Amazingly not any slight VARIATION changes or affects any Bible doctrine!!!!!
There are three classifications of these variants.
1. Trivial variants with no consequence to the text!
(This is the MAJORITY of the 200,000 – 400,000 variants)
For example if a “T” was not crossed all the way in 4,000 of the 5,500 manuscripts this would be 4,000 variants!
2. Substantial variations with no consequence to the text!
3. Substantial variations that have a bearing upon the text. (Again there are NONE that affect Bible doctrine!)
Almost 99% of the Bible text is not in dispute in any way!

All the areas where variants are found does not affect Bible doctrine in the slightest way!!!
The mathematical probability of that to happen is virtually impossible! To have a document that started over 3,000 years ago to have that kind of authentication, verification and the vast documents to use to compare to each other is miraculous!
To show the amazing reality of the Bible compared to other works, Lea, speaks to
the many disputes of Shakespeare's thirty-seven plays. Shakespeare’s work is less than three-hundred years old! Not over 3,000 years old.
The disputes in Shakespeare’s plays are things that affect the meaning of a passage. This is NOT the case with the Bible.
The Oral Tradition
When did writing down the Biblical record begin? Moses the first author was ordered by God to make copies. He was able to make certain that they were exactly what God said or they would have been discarded. Remember, Moses seen the red sea open up and swallow the Egyptians, he seen water come out of a rock, and the earth opened up and swallowed disobedient people. This would cause anyone to be VERY careful, not to misrepresent God’s Word or the earth could open up for them! Anyone who would have seen these things would be motivated by self-preservation or the fear of retribution and they would make certain to record accurately.
Of course, Moses had a great love for God. Moses’ respect and love of God would have been all motivation Moses needed to not misrepresent God. Below we see that Moses was concerned about his ability to speak for God at the burning bush experience because he did not want to misrepresent God in anyway!
Exodus 4:10-12 (Moses concern for representing God)
And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
Moses was from the tribe of Levi. The Levites were also responsible to have scribes dedicated to the task of accurate recording. These Levites also seen God’s wrath demonstrated when people stepped out of line. The Levite tribe witnessed Nadab and Abihu both Levite priests who died for offering incense to God in the wrong way. This would put the fear of God in anyone and cause them to be very cautious to represent God accurately. The Bible mentions the profession of the Scribe almost 50 times. A lot of writing was clearly a practice used to keep records in Scripture.
Strange incense death Incense
And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest's office in the sight of Aaron their father.
Earth swallowing disobedient people
So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children. And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the Lord hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind. If these men die the common death
of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the Lord hath not sent me. But if the Lord make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the Lord. And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them: And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation. And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also. And there came out a fire from the Lord, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
These examples would leave a lasting impression upon anyone to avoid offending God. This was a part of Israel’s culture. The children of Israel would never want to be one to profane the name of the Lord or they would guilty. It is in this mindset that the ORAL TRADITION was able to flourish with immense accuracy because of fear and love for God.
EXAMPLES OF RECORDING SCRIPTURE
Scripture of Levites responsibility for scribes
2 Chronicles 34:12-13
And the men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them were Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to set it forward; and other of the Levites, all that could skill of instruments of musick. Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and were overseers of all that wrought the work in any manner of service: and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and porters.
1 Kings 4:1-3
So king Solomon was king over all Israel. And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the priest, Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder.
And the Lord said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
Exodus 24:1-4 And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off. And Moses alone shall come near the Lord: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him. And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord hath said will we do. And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
Numbers 33:1-3 These are the journeys of the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt with their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron. And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of the Lord: and these are their journeys according to their goings out. And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the Passover the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.
Deuteronomy 31:7-9 And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it. And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and unto all the elders of Israel.
Exodus 34:27-28 And the Lord said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
Deuteronomy 17:14-18 When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me; Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the Lord hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way. Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turns not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold. And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites
Joshua 24:25-27 So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the Lord. And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the Lord which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.
1 Chronicles 16:2-4 And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord. And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, and to record, and to thank and praise the Lord God of Israel:
Deuteronmy 31:19 Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.
2 Chronicles 26:22 Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.
Isaiah 8:1-2 Moreover the Lord said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Maher-shalal-hash-baz. And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
Jeremiah 36:2 Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.

The dedicated NOAH
Noah built an ark for around 100 years.
Genesis 6:13-22 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. 15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. 16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. 17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and everything that is in the earth shall die. 18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. 20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. 21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. 22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
ABRAHAM and his integrity
And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the Lord, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take anything that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:
THE TRUE PROPHETS TEST
Deuteronomy 13:1-5 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the Lord thy God commanded thee
Deuteronomy 18:18-19:1 (Prophet test continued) I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
HOSEA THE OBEDIENT PROPHET
Read Hosea 1
The summary of Hosea 1. God tells the prophet, Hosea, to marry a whore to illustrate that the children of Israel was being unfaithful in their relationship to God in a similar way as a unfaithful wife will go out with men that is not her husband. Any prophet that would marry a whore and not a respected virgin would send shock throughout the Israel communities. Could you imagine the news report! This is exactly why God tells the prophet to do this because it would grab everyone’s attention so God could address their spiritual problem. No doubt God had been trying to get their attention but they ignored and resisted God’s attempts to reach them. So, God used a shocking illustration to grab their attention.
There are at least two things we can learn from this story.
1. God’s love pursues us in ways to get our attention. Then if a person rejects Him they can have no excuse when they face judgment time. They can’t say God you did not try!
2. For our topic “The People of the Bible,” we learn that the prophet was so dedicated to God that he was willing to obey God even by doing something that he would normally consider abhorrent! This is dedication! God never required this before or after of any person. Nonetheless, this prophet obeyed God because he was dedicated to God.
Read Ezra 10
Ezra the priest explains to the children of Israel that they disobeyed God by marrying foreign wives who had not yet converted to the Jewish faith. God warned Israel that marriage with non- converted foreigners would eventually lead Israel away from God. So they ordered their wives and children to leave Israel! This may blow our minds! But it does prove the serious commitment that these Jewish people had to God!
The New Testament
The apostle Paul worked with the Jewish traditional leaders and pursued and arrested Christian Jews. This same person had a life changing encounter with Jesus and then became a Christian. God has used Paul to write almost two-thirds of the New Testament and became one of the most significant leaders in the early church. History tells us that he eventually gave his life for what he believed in. History tells us that virtually every apostle with Jesus died for their faith in Jesus.

These represent only some of the remarkable stories of dedication that the People of the Bible had to keep their commitment to God. People like these would not be people to PERVERT GOD’S WORD! They would treasure it and make sure that it was accurate and that others would not alter God’s Word. They gave their life for this cause! These were not con men trying to personally benefit from gaining power and money to manipulate people for their own benefit. Rather, it was the exact opposite; they were persecuted, hungered, shipwrecked and some gave their lives!
